Rough Aluminum Vee Block Casting

The VB-5 raw casting can be a very valuable tool for bread boarding mechanical setups. It is approximately five and one-half (5.5) inches [140mm] tall, four and three-quarter (4.75) inches [121mm] wide, and seven and one-half (7.5) inches [191mm] long.

It weighs just over ten (10) pounds [4.5kg].

The casting is made of 356 Aluminum that is solution annealed and heat treated to condition T4. This is the hardest, strongest and most machinable commercial condition.

The riser block, part number RB-4-5, can be used to extend the elevation of the Vee Block.

The locating face is included at forty-five (45) degrees. Two of these blocks across from each other form a good nest for locating relatively large cylinders, such as spindle bearings, in bread board setups.
