![]() Balls, Satin Finish, No Flash |
Satin Finished Balls are a fairly recent development. They are typically used as calibration and evaluation devices for optical and laser range-finder applications. These are extremely high quality balls; but they have a satin, rather than a polished mirror finish. We have supplied satin finish balls in many different materials with several different surface treatments. Some of the popular materials have been Aluminum Oxide Ceramic, Zirconium Oxide Ceramic, Stainless Steel, Aluminum and Titanium. |

These balls usually have a blind hole drilled in them to facilitate mounting. The Aluminum and Titanium are often anodized to provide a dichroic reflecting layer on the surface. This variety of materials is required to optimize the performance of the broad array of sensors used today. They can be supplied as loose balls or we can mount them on our standard calibration devices. A single ball can be mounted on a standard Probe Calibration Post. Two balls can be mounted on a standard Ball Bar (Dumbbell) or twenty balls can be mounted on a standard Ball Plate.
