The use of precision balls as inspection tools is no longer hampered by the very limited number of fractional ball sizes that are commercially available. The versatile ball kits are produced in all of the popular fractional inch sizes from 3/32 inch to 1.00 inch diameter. Each seven ball kit contains a nominal fractional ball as well as one each that is +.0002", +.0004", +.001", +.002" also -.001", and -.002".

These balls are precision lapped round to less than 25 microinches. The surface finish is precision polished better than 1.5 microinches Ra. The absolute diameter tolerance of each ball is less than plus or minus 100 microinches.

The balls are produced from a high carbon, chrome alloy steel that is hardened to 62 Re. Each size ball kit is packaged in an individual plastic vile. The seven ball kits are available individually or as a complete 22 size set. The complete set is shipped in a heavy duty steel storage container. It has a hinged lid and individual compartments for each ball kit size.
