FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

By constructing of this very large new device of tubular Invar. It is extremely rigid and lightweight, with excellent temperature stability.

Four positive and absolutely repeatable test positions are provided along the standard two-point three-meter (seven and one half feet) length.

Each one of these four test positions consists of a magnetically assisted three ball kinematic coupling that is rigidly fixed to the structural bulkheads that hold the device together.A test probe sphere is used on the portable arm C.M.M. that matches the three ball kinematic coupling on the structural bulkheads.

This test device provides exactly the same function as the Ball Bar (Dumbbell) does in standard C.M.M. evaluation.

This tubular Invar device is rigidly attached to a tubular Invar Tripod through a ball bearing turret assembly, so that it can be positioned anywhere from vertical to horizontal.

This will meet all of the requirements of the ANSI B89.4.1-1997 specification for "Performance Evaluation of Coordinate Measuring Machine".
